As a descendant of the Hiram Daniel family, I am not a match with Randy. He does however have three matches, one of whom Charlie Q. Daniel traces his roots back to Theophilus and to William & Elizabeth beyond that. Members of the Theophilus Daniel family will want to contact Randy & Charlie for more info. What we now KNOW is that the Hiram Daniel family is NOT related to the Theophilus Daniel family. What we might be lead to BELIEVE is that the DNA somehow shows that Theophilus Daniel is a son of William & Elizabeth. This is not necessarily true, nor is it necessarily false. There are too many folks besides my little Hiram Daniel family who seem to be sniffing around this old family tree. Pam, you are exactly right is that all of this is a work in progress. A personal note here is that on Monday the best historian of my Robert C. Daniel family of Moore Co Tennessee died. She believed that Robert was a son of Joseph Daniel who was the grandfather of Jack Daniel of whiskey fame, mostly lead on by the Motlow's and the proximity there near Lynchburg. The DNA proved this to be incorrect, but her research into all of Robert's children will forever guide us. She had inherited the family Bible. So we need to be careful in differentiating between our earliest KNOWN ancestors and their SUSPECTED parents. Thanks again to Randy for contributing to the Daniel DNA project. One more step forward. We encourage others to participate. Also, I'm not terribly fond of these message board postings., which eventually do make it to our Daniel email list. Folks might consider joining our email list. So for now, I will move on to, like my dog Miss Puppies, sniff & pee at some of the two hundred year old family trees in North Carolina, Tennessee and even Georgia where the DNA says we have a couple of branches of the Hiram Daniel family tree that we have yet to figure out how they fit.
