Hi Jack, This is the one I received from you earlier today. Vivion Daniel is my 4th great grandfather. Thanks a lot. I don't remember the one on the newspaper ad and petition, etc but I might have missed it. To: DANIEL@rootsweb.com Date: Tuesday, January 6, 2009, 7:30 PM Hi guys, I tried to send this email earlier - prior to the one that came through about the newspaper add and petition. I never saw it come through, so I am sending it again. If it comes through twice, my apologies. Just as an FYI, Vivion Daniel appears on a number of Revolutionary War records, digitized images of which can be accessed through Footnote.com (No, I am not a salesman, just a satisfied subscriber.): There is a 5 page (those little fold-up portfolio pages) Compiled Service Record - this is essentially a summary of his Rev War records. There is a payroll dated 1 June to 1 August, 1779, for Captain Garland Burney's Company of Colonel Francis Taylor's Regiment of Militia (Albemarle County, VA, 1779, folder 343, Page 16). Vivion Daniel also appears multiple times in Revolutionary War Pension files - not as pensioner, but as a supporting witness in several men's pension applications. The signature appears the same in the three that I took a quick look at, so if you are a descendant of Vivion Daniel (I am not) and want his autograph, this could be the place. Good hunting.
