Does anyone recognize or lay claim to the following Daniel people who registered for the 1807 GA. Lottery (for land in the newly opened area of Baldwin Co.)? They were all registered from Capt. Beal's (Beales?) District which encompassed the area of Oglethorpe Co. which included the area of the Kettle Creek Battleground, and formerly was a part of Wilkes Co. (far eastern section of Oglethorpe). These names are all DANIEL (ONE "L"), and not all drew land. Names are as follows: Betsey Ann Daniel, James Daniel, Jennie Daniel, Samuel Daniel, Thomas Daniel, Rebekah Daniel, Richard Daniel (son of Rebekah Daniel), Richard Daniel (Dec'd). This Thomas Daniel, b. 1786, GA (my elusive ggggrand) registered as an "Orphan" and drew land in Baldwin , which he never lived on, apparently. Thomas was on the 1807 Oglethorpe Tax List, with one Poll. He married in Dec. 1807. Can anyone lay claim to or identify the others?? Appreciate any info or thoughts. BTW - I recently located not one, but two, real, live direct male descendants of old 1786 Thomas, and the DNA test went forward to the Lab before Christmas. YEAH!!
