    1. [DANIEL] Father of Thomas Daniel, b. 1786 GA??
    2. Some of you may recall that for many years my 3rd great grandfather, Thomas, was erroneously listed as a son of old 1743 William Daniell, which has been disproved by both Ken Daniell, me and others. However any documentable info as to his father or which Daniel line has been continued to be elusive. I now have a copy of a page listing in numerical order, from 306 to 336, winning drawers in the 1807 Land Lottery (definitely written in 1800's handwriting, but very clearly written), No.327 being "Thomas Daniel (ORPHAN OF BERRY DANIEL), Robinson's District, Clarke Co." and in the far right hand column "May 1869". Apparently, though, old Thomas never lived on the land, which was down in Baldwin Co. It was never mentioned, a far as I can tell, in any of the documents and Notes Receivable concerned in the administration of Thomas' estate (he died intestate in 1852, but it took until 1860 to finally settle the estate (papers in Estate Files Newton Co., GA.). When I queried the State about the land, they said only that the Baldwin property was sold by the State in 1869. I supposed they considered the property abandoned. Please note that the name was NOT a "Greenberry" nor a "LittleBerry - just "Berry". Thomas and Martha Patsy Smith, b, 1785, NC, were married Dec. 1807 in Clarke Co., GA. They had one daughter, Leah, and three sons - Eli (b. 1809), WILLIAM BERRY, (b. 1813), and Seaborn John, (b. 1819), my direct. "Berrys" were often near my Daniel folk in censuses, some "Berrys" bought items in his estate sale. Very few plain "Berry Daniel" names show up in researching sources - one who "died before his father did" and is buried in Laurens, SC; another supposedly born 1786 - a twin to Thomas??, but no other info or birth location. If a light bulb comes on for any of you long-time Daniel researchers on this "Berry" situation, please give me a holler!! Thanks!!
