There were two Ezekiel Daniels in Morgan County, GA - father and son. Rather than type all of my notes in here, though, I recommend that you visit Dian Bradford's page on these Daniels. She sums up these guys quite nicely, with lots of detail and I agree with her based on my own research. If one of the Ezekiel Daniels from Morgan County, GA, you should find a lot to be happy about on her page: http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=zeke-3&id=I1366 Good hunting! It means that he lived in Wood's (probably Captian Wood) militia district. Also, you must be very careful when researching Ezekiel Daniel - I found at least 5 different men with that name who lived in roughly the same time period. At least one of them - the one supposedly the son of Aaron Daniel - has children listed to him in some online trees that definitely are not his children. I was WRONG! Exciting new DNA results have identified the William H. s/o of Samuel and Elizabeth (Holloway) Daniel. See the announcement and further info at http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.daniel/2185/mb.ashx Hopefully, my speculation hasn't gone beyond that one post. Now to review the Granville records more to see if one of the contemporary William H. Daniels who is in Granville is the same as the one who migrated. It was in great part because I felt the i.d.s of the Wm H's who stayed there were clear that I came to think Samuel's William had died, evidently he just moved on before showing up on Granville records, but I'm checking again. Regards to all, another brick wall overcome by DNA! Pam in CA Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Author: jandaniel56 Surnames: Daniel, Glovier, Collins, Whatley, Holloway, Key, Hicks, Price Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.daniel/2185/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi, Hot off the press, some more exciting news for Middlesex Daniels! ANOTHER new Middlesex Daniel test has come in, kit 143930. This test is of particular importance because it settles once and for all the confusion over the proper assignment of the several William H. Daniel men contending for the honor of "son of Samuel Daniel and Elizabeth Holloway" - the "same name, close age, must be the same person", conundrum. The William H(enry) Daniel now proven to be the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Holloway Daniel was born 17 Sep 1826 in Granville, NC. He disappears from the Granville records by 1840, reappearing in Lowndes Co, AL where he marries Ann Elizabeth Whatley 8 Oct 1857 (records available from the AL Archives). The couple had at least two children: James Warren Daniel b. 31 Dec 1859 and Mary Elizabeth Daniel b. 6 Dec 1862. Family records state he died 10 Dec 1868 (not proven). His wife was remarried by 1880 and living in TX where many descendants still reside. The tester's descent is: 8 Quilla Joe Daniel (d. 1976, m. Lillie Mae Glovier) 7 James Warren Daniel (d. 1908, m. Stella Ann Collins) 6 William H(enry) Daniel (d. 1868, m. Ann Elizabeth Whatley) 5 Samuel Daniel (d. bef. 1870, m. Elizabeth Holloway) 4 Josiah Daniel (d. 1811, m. Elizabeth Key) 3 James "of Albemarle" Daniel (d. 1761, m. Jane "Jennie" Hicks) 2 Robert Daniel (d. 1720, m. Margaret Price) 1 Capt. William Daniel (d. 1698) Although this means some will have to reevaluate their family assignments, we're more than pleased to be able to "come home". Thanks to all who over the years have been so generous with their time and suggestions - Rosalyn, Ruth, John .... there are just too many to name, but you know who you are!!! Bob Daniell and Pam Miller - a special thank you for your insightful analysis and detailed information during our fall '08 thread on the parents of Josiah which prompted me to finally get the test done. If I'd followed up on my original plans we would have had this answer 5 years ago (mea culpa!) but better late than never. Lisa - this is one time when an unattributed World Connect listing was correct! Researchers can refer to the Daniel List archives for more information on these families http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/index/DANIEL , the Daniel DNA project for a relatively current list of lines that have tested http://www.danieldna.50g.com/, or Pam Miller's site which focuses on her research of the Middlesex Daniel family http://www.pamiller.net/genealogy/docs/danielmiddlesex/danieldna/index.htm NOTE: you will have to cut and paste these links into your browser. Can anyone on the Daniel-L help this lady with her Isaac Daniel? The Isaac I research was from Northampton, Dobbs and Wayne counties in NC. Diane Carrington Bradford Atlanta, GA ----- Original Message ----- From: delta12339@aol.com To: NCEDGECO@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, February 26, 2009 11:28 AM Subject: [NCEDGECO] Daniel and Parker Families in NC Does anyone know anything about Isaac Daniel and Nancy Parker who were married in Edgecombe Co., in 1829 and were in AL by the 1840 census in Sumter Co., AL. They were also on the 1850 census and then disappeared. Nancy is said to be a sister to our Guilford Parker and possibly Willliam R. Parker of Sumter Co. is a brother. There was a Sara Parker age 80 in the household of Willliam in 1850 who may be the mother of them all. They all lived almost next door to each other in 1850. This William Parker is probably the same one who married Absilla (unknown) by 1860 and lived in the same area. Any help there would be appreciated. Family information says that Guilford's daughter-in-law Mary Ann Joiner Parker who married John Gray Parker spoke of her grandmother Sally Parker, so this would fit. Mary Ann and John Gray werw supposed to have been first cousins, so they would have shared grandparents. Her mother was Martha Ann Parker who marriede Orin Joiner. We need a father for Guilford, William and Nancy and also a husband for Sara. Nancy's descendants may be the key as she may have been the older daughter. Any descendants out there with any info on this Parker-Daniel family? ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to NCEDGECO-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

A new Middlesex Daniel test has come in, kit 142779. The tester descends from : Travis (d. 1805, md. Peggy Dillard) Robert (d. 1782, md. Sarah Mickelborough) Robert (d. 1781 md. Elizabeth Carter) William Jr. (d. 1723, md.2 Mary Moseley) Capt. William (d. 1698) The fabulous news is that this test confirms our first branch marker mutation in the Middlesex Daniel family. It's at marker #447: the modal for this marker is 22 (William Jr.'s other son Obediah shows a 22 and the tests for Robert (d. 1720, md. Margaret Price) show a 22, i.e. the 22 goes across both William Jr. and Robert). But the tests of this Travis (142779)and his brother Robert (119371) both show 23 at marker #447. So the mutation occurred with at least their father Robert (d. 1782). If we can get a test from an uncle to Travis and Robert, we can find out if the mutation actually occurred in the previous generation (Robert d. 1781, md. Elizabeth Carter) or just at their son Robert (d. 1782).
