BW 1753-1848 had a son 1800-1847 they called Woodson. I will have to dig for the younger ones will. I do remember this notice giving family members the children who were under age at his death. I have a photo of his grave. I can't find the older BW's but am looking for an obit on him. Our family lived in Danville between Standing Rock and Hurricane Creek. My sister and I have gone to this area for several years. We were told BW and David were kin. We know Right T. is Hardison's brother for sure. Right Daniel was the jailor in Dover then built Dover Hotel which is now Surrender House at Ft. Donelson. Some list call old BW's Hardisons father but we believe he was his uncle. I have one will with John Daniel wrote in NC in 1802 listing Hardy son. Don't know if this him. Would a DNA work on my grandson to find out what line? We are down to few Daniel men in our line. We have a Wright Daniel in our line, he was married to Caroline Gentry, which is my great grandmother. Their daughter Mary Daniel was my grandmother, who married George W Batey. Would anyone have information on Wright? Can you share the text of the Stewart County will of BW Daniel? The reason I am so intrigued is that BW's son BW was probably born after 1794 and died in 1827. Stranger things have happened but I don't think he would have named two sons BW living in the same time frame. Your Right or Wright Daniel & Hardison likely came out of Martin County, NC along with Luke & Mark Hardison, brothers out of Martin who married Daniel girls from Martin as well as David Daniel, brother of Luke Hardison's wife. These Daniel's all descend from Simon Daniel of Chowan Co., NC. This family tended to congregate around Leatherwood Creek in Stewart, wheras BW and his known family were on Hurricane Creek. Author: runforf471 Surnames: Daniel, Linch, Lynch Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.daniel/2188.1.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Woodson Daniel who left a 1791 Will in Wake County, NC was the father of sons James, B.W., John, David and William. In the will B.W. is referred to as Woodson, however, when James, John and BW later removed to Rowan Co. NC(late 1770's), BW is referred to as Benjamin W., Benjamin, Benjamin Woodson in Rowan County records. Later David also came to Rowan. Benjamin's RW Pension App. indicates he lived in Rowan Co., for 8 years after his RW service then went to Rutherford Co., TN. Accompanying him to Rutherford were Peter Daniel, son of brother David and Stephen Linch (Lynch) a relation of David's wife Margaret Linch. Also the families of Peter and Stephen's wives (sisters surnamed Loftin) went to Rutherford with the head of the family Moses. BW spent a short time in Rutherford then went on to Stewart Co., TN. where he lived till his death in 1849. His son Benjamin Woodson (also called Woodson in Stewart County records) preceeded him in death (1827). Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
