(1809-1865)of Jefferson County, GA and he had a son (2), William Russell Daniel ( 1854-1904. RW Daniel was the son of Robert Chesley Daniel ( ABT 1770-AFT 11830) and Penelope Lane of Burke County, GA, formerly of Green County, NC. DNA also says "Middlesex Daniel," which fits right in with Albemsrle County, VA. I think that RC Daniel was a grandson of Capt. James Daniel and Jane Hicks of Aalbemarle, probably by his son, Chessley Daniel, but I cannot tie him to Chesley, cousin. Drop me a note at jrclarke@sc.rr.com or via of the DANIEL List. Pinkney was the son of Shepherd Daniel and Mary??? Shepherd is on the 1820-1830-1840 census for Iredell County NC. He was born sometime between 1790-1800 and probably married around 1820. THey had children Peggy, Pinkney (1824), June, Rebecca (1834), Lee, Nancy (1838), Martha (1840) and James. I hit a dead end on finding either Mary's maiden name or what happened to Shepherd. I've always assumed there was likely some family connection to the Shepherd Lee you mention, but some of the dates don't match up quite right. I know that Pinkney was maried 2x and died in 1919, I know where he is buried (Virginia), but I've been unable to locate a copy of his death cert in either NC or VA. This is one family thread that has stymied me for years. Personally I would love to know that the middle initial "O" (Pinkney O) stands for and I'd like to take this branch of my family tree back a few more generations. There are a lot of "Daniels" in NC, I just have been unable to connect Shepherd to any of them. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I have recently found new information on my ancestor, William Calvin WATKINS (b. 1825) that makes me question who is parents are. It is believed that he is the son of Judith DANIEL (b. 1800 VA, daughter of James DANIEL and Ann VENABLE) and Joel Thomas WATKINS. According to a Chancery Court record of Williamson Co., TN W. Calvin WATKINS sued the estate of Samuel BRIDGES. In this document it is stated that Samuels's wife Milly BRIGDES is the aunt of William Calvin WATKINS. William took in and cared for his Aunt Milly because she was old and basically not in her right mind. Therefore, William was suing the estate of his uncle for compensation for his care of Milly. William's testimony is very specific, and states that Milly is his mother's sister. So, my question is this, where does Milly fit in. The information I have seen so far, Judith does not have a sister Milly (or similar name). Can anybody shed light on this? Kim Ivey kivey0129@charter.net
