My research has George in Texas by 1847. I have been trying to find out who is father was for years - looking for that document that will tell it for certain. Verbal history has it he was a confederate soldier, that he survived the war, then was killed - possibly having been struck by lightening while plowing a field. Some out fit called "Tagged" has my email address and may exploit it with a claim that I support their aims/goals whatever. I do not support them. Zachariah Daniel's brother Marmaduke had a pension record for his service in the War of 1812. There is an available pension record for Zachariah Daniel but researchers have been unable to find the one for Marmaduke Daniel. A Reuben Daniel was also in this family. HELP! TOC

There are at least two Davids of which I am aware in Nash Co. (Father & Son) neither of which married Martha Hawks. The elder David died before 1825 in Nash and named spouse Magdalin. I believe he was grandson of John, the carpenter, of Brunswick Co., Va through John's son Isham. The younger David died before 1845 and married Mary Curl 7 Jun 1814. One child, Martha P. married first cousin John J., son of David's brother Jeptha. Martha Hawks married Robert Daniel 13 Jan 1791 in Brunswick Co., VA.
