----- Original Message ----- From: Fred Gahm To: Carol Seine Sent: Tuesday, October 06, 2009 8:04 PM Subject: Fw: *77 : Subject: *77 77 (PLEASE READ!) I knew about the red light on cars, but not the *77 It was about 1:00 p.m. In the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's parents have always told her never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather to wait until they get to a gas station, etc. Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called *77 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there were police cars where she was and there weren't, and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back up already on the way. Minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind.. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes. I never knew about the *77 Cell Phone Feature, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a safe place. *Speaking to a service representative at ** Bell ** Mobility confirmed that *77 was a direct link to State trooper info. So, now it's your turn to let your friends know about*77. Send this to every woman (and person) you know; it may save a life. This applies to ALL 50 states. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Lauren found her dream laptop. Daniel was George Brown Daniel. I found a little more evidence of the same. On my last trip in SLC I did some more MO Jackson records and found that in Deed H92 the last naming of George B. Daniel before the signatures has "rown" added above the initial B (same ink and pressure, clearly looks like it's from the same recording time, just smaller). George and Rebecca are selling two tracts to John Daniel on 10 Aug 1836: 40a, NW SE S25 T47 R30, also 40a, NW NE S35 T47 R30. This deed was recorded 13 Dec 1841. These are two of the grants he had obtained on 7 Sep 1838. I double checked the 1836 sale year, it's definitely 1836. The first tract (in Section 25) is the one that was surrounded N-W-S by John Daniel (who got his tracts on the same date as George B.). The same here. The page looks great and it's so nice to be able to refer to it and send others there too. Thank you Thank you! You all know how exciting it was last year to find a home for our William which would never have happened without the DNA test. Jan Daniel
I want to second a BIG THANKS to Kevin for updating the results page. While this page may seem trivial to some, it helps me keep track of kit numbers as they are connected to my living cousins, something not shown on my private login page. I got started in the DNA project in 2003. At that time I had one match, a Mr. Faron Daniel from Tennessee (kit 5404-one of the founders as we are now up to over 150 thousand kits). Along with good basic research like census records, family Bible records, and a lot of effort, we now have a core of seven DNA participants from our family. In the process we have eliminated false leads. I am not related to Jasper Newton (Jack) Daniel despite what Lem Motlow's brother Felix thought, and the fact that my gg-gf Robert C. Daniel is buried there in Moore Co Tenn on Daniel Hollow just a few miles north of Lynchburg. The DNA helped sort this out. Our family is potentially on the verge of connecting back from my Mississippi, Tennessee, and as we learned this year even Georgia, roots back to Ireland, again thanks to the DNA project. Keep up the good work Kevin. We are depending on you! Clay Daniels Fort Worth Texas --- On Fri, 10/9/09, P. A. Miller <gen@pamiller.net> wrote: > From: P. A. Hi to all, Kevin, thanks so much for updating the DNA results page at 50g.com. There are some interesting new groups that have formed and good growth in some of the already established groups, it's wonderful to see DNA in action! Hope everybody who's tested in the last year or who hasn't already done so in the past will announce your test on the list and submit ancestor blurbs so we can keep an eye out for records that might help your line. Diane, what can I say, my hope is that you get swamped with blurbs to post!! Thanks again, Kevin, Pam in CA

I did not know about the Daniel email list. Also when I read your cousin's response of "Which William There were so many?" it made me laugh. I have been taking care of my mom and dad for the last 4 years, and while doing that I worked on our family history. Mom died Jan 2008, Dad died 13 Sept 2009. They did not have internet service so I only had limited time on computer at home. I have my Daniel Family back to a William Daniel who died 6 Oct 1793 after falling off Clement's Mill Dam Powhatan, Co. Virginia. He was married to ? Cox, daughter of Henry Cox. They had six children, Henry, Stephen, Elizabeth,William, Judith, and Thomas. This I can prove, but I am at a stand still now. My William is first found in Cumberland Co. Va. along with a Williams Daniel, and another William Daniel. When Powhatan County was formed from Cumberland in 1777, my William is found there on the same land. I guess I'll have to get a DNA test Done but I don't k! now much about it, or if it will help. My maiden name is Daniel, but the trace is thru the male line, so my first cousin Alfred David Daniel did the DNA test for our family.
