Now we know where the Lewis DANIEL fits -- Lewis DANIELL son of Robert DANIELL and Sarah Amelia LEWIS of Horry County, SC. This may also tell us where that Aaron DANIEL who married a STANALAND in Tattnall County, GA fits, too, because there was an Aaron DANIEL floating around Horry County, SC, too, but we do not know where he fits into all of this, do we? What I find most interesting is that one of the supposed children of Stephen Bedon DANIELL (Amelia DANIELL who married Masters HANKINS) is listed in the will of Robert DANIELL, her uncle, especially since her mother's name was Amelia LEWIS. IMHO, Amelia DANIEL who married Masters HANKINS was a d/o Robert and not Stephen....... <<< Date: 1805/04/04 Description: DANIELS, ROBERT OF HORRY DISTRICT, WILL TYPESCRIPT (2 FRAMES). Well, we know who this fellow was, don't we? He was the father in-law of the oft lamented, David DANIEL (1769-1832) of Chester, SC. and David is also listed in his father in-law's will. We also know the names of Mary MULDOON's siblings and who they married from this will, too, don't we? We also know her father was not named, James, but David MULDOON. BTW, David DANIEL is actually David O'DANIEL, son of William O'DANIEL, Jr of Stafford County, VA. <<< Date: 1801 C. This is also an interesting will. I have often thought this may be a part of the John McDANIEL we see living right next to William and Lucretia Bell DANIEL (O'DANIEL) in Edgefield County, SC in the 1800 time frame. I have often wondered if that are a part of the McDANIELS who are tied to the children of Benjamin and Lucretia Burgamy DANIEL in Laurens County, GA. Just a thought on the latter and I am pretty sure it is the former. I also know there was a Thomas NORRIS who was an Attorney in Edgefield but he died in Morgan County, GA in 1816. I do not know if he was related to this Stephen NORRIS or not. <<< Date: 1795/03 Description: MCDANIEL, ANGUS OF EDGEFIELD COUNTY, WILL TYPESCRIPT (MSS WILL: BOOK A, PAGE 77; ESTATE PACKET: BOX 18, PKG 663) (2 FRAMES). This is a very interesting will, too. Background, Leonard TARRANT, Sr. was the son of Benjamin TARRANT and Martha DALTON of Greenville District, SC. Martha was the d/o Robert DALTON, Sr. and Mary KEY of Pittsylvania County, VA. Mary was the d/o John KEY and Martha TANDY of Albemarle County, Virginia. Martha's sister, Susannah DALTON of Albemarle County, Virginia married a Daniel P. WITCHER (1746-1815) and they moved to Macon County, TN. We know the DANIELS are all through this whole bunch. What I want to know is who is Nelly DANIEL. One would think from reading the will she was Penelope TARRANT who married a DANIEL but that is just a guess on my part..... <<< Date: 1791/08/24 Description: TARRANT, LEONARD SR. Names Indexed: George POOL, Barbara POOL, Phoebe (slave), Hannah (slave), Deby (slave), William RIVERS, Martin MARSHALL, Jr., Stephen NIXON, Isham NIXON, Jesse NIXON. It is interesting for two reason. There are NIXONS ties to the Middlesex DANIEL family VIA the MOSELEYS and to the DANIELL family of Brunswick County, NC. I hope someone recognizes one of these names. Source: SC Archives, MSS WILL: BOOK E, PAGE 262; ESTATE PACKET: BOX 24, PKG 591) John R. Clarke Thomasville, GA
Good Morning, Has anyone ever seen this name? I am trying to find some more details about this DANIEL boy but I think his name may have been Guilford Pritchett DANIEL. John R. Clarke Thomasville, GA
While reading the "History of Truro Parish in Virginia" by Rev. Philip Slaughter, a very interesting bit of information popped up in one of only a couple of genealogies presented. Having previously discovered that Catherine GUNNELL, d/o Henry GUNNELL and Catherine O'DANIEL of Fairfax, Virginia, had married an Unknown COFFER, and now this book listing Francis COFFER, 1748-Aft 1802, and wife Unknown GUNNELL, it seemed a reasonable fit for two pieces of a puzzle found in different locations. Francis and Catherine's son Thomas COFFER, 1773-1862, and wife, Ann SIMPSON with their eight children and spouses, and Francis's father, Thomas Withers COFFER, 1713-1781, who m. Mary FARGUSON, and grandfather, Francis COFFER, 1683-1740, who m. Mary Littlejohn WITHERS are also named. Below is a Descendant Chart for Francis COFFER, 1683, which reflects the information presented in this book: 1-Francis COFFER b. 1683, d. 1740 +Mary Littlejohn WITHERS b. Abt 1685, m.
