I found Mark on the 1871 census of Hutton Cranswick with his mother Eliza Alice DALE born Pickering, married, aged 46. Mark is 13 and born in Hutton which is in the Driffield district of East Yorkshire. He is also on the 1861 census for the same place, again with his mother, aged 36 plus siblings James 9, Sarah Ann, 6, and Mary 2. All but James were born Hutton; James was born at Barm... I had difficulty initially as Mark was indexed as Marsh! It isn't a common first name - only a few of the name born in a 10 year period. (Ref.
