Last record of him was in the 1851 census. Also his sister Mary born 1848 in Brighton. Last record in 1871 census in Brighton. Also Mary's daughter Alice born 1866 in Brighton. Where was she and who was she with in 1881? My interest is that Alice was born illegitimate (have birth certificate), but her mother Mary gave the father's name of William Dale (I believe a brother of Mary who died the year before) to have her christened and Alice gave Thomas as her father's name, Wheelwright deceased, when she married. I would like to know if my idea that Mary died after 1871 and so Alice went to her uncle to live and hence believed Thomas was her father. I have searched all the records and can find nothing.
