After 1690 four Dale brothers went to Ireland, one ending up in each of Antrim, Armagh, Derry or Down. Or so the family story goes. I have traced my line back to Derry and I have a "cousin" in Australia who traces back to a Dale who settled in Antrim. Our DNA proves that we share a common ancestor back a few hundred years--the father of the four Dale brothers. We need to find an Armagh and Down Dale to take the DNA and complete the loop. There are a number of Yorkshire Dales who have had their DNA done but their DNA is not even close our Scots Dales. If you get your DNA tested, you could find lost "cousins" among the Yorkshire Dales. The name has been there for at least 500 years. Ron Dale Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
