Alice, who married a man named Martin, was said to be the family genealogist but the records of her search have proved elusive. I understand there are pictures of David and Mary Ann Parker in those records. However, I do have considerable information regarding your branch of the family including one by the name Callahan. The carriage/blacksmith shop you refer to was located at 220 Spruce street but is long gone now. It was actually owned by George's older brother Samuel, my dad's father. Samuel was continuing in the same work as his father, David. George was an apprentice there until his eyes were damaged by sparks. He had to take up a new line of work which was ownership of the flower shop. My dad's brother Herschel Parker took over the blacksmith shop when their father died. Later on Herschel moved his family to Grove City in Western Pennsylvania. My mother grew up in Philipsburg as well. She was a Wilson. There are many Wilson relatives who currently live in or near Philipsburg, including the Hicksons, Pelkas, Cragos and Mayhews, Woods, and Walkers. My mother and father moved our family to Michigan in 1929. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
