Abel Dale was born around 1858 in Audley, Staffordshire. He was a coal miner as was his father before him. His parents were Joseph Dale and Susannah Walker who were married in Audley on September 14, 1857. Joseph's father's name was William (Samuel William I believe). At least one of the Dales from this part of England has had his DNA tested and it shows that there is no relationship between these Dales and the Scots and Irish Dales.
