He and two older siblings were born in New Brunswick while the younger ones were born in Pontiac County. Florence was the daughter of David Moorehead and Barbara Pitt, one of 10 children. David and Barbara were born in Ireland. He seems to have had a brother named John who was married to a Florence and this is likely where your Florence got her name--from her aunt.
