Unfortunately, I'm afraid I can't help you at this point very much. The "Dail" research I was doing wasn't personal, but on behalf of the late William (Bill) Byrd, who died perhaps 5-6 years ago here in the Greenville area. I don't recall where "Henry/Hillery Dale" fit into Bill's family tree, if he did. He may have been a "possible" for me, without being able to prove anything. Anyway, Bill's "Dail" family came from just north of Fayetteville, NC, where a number of cousins, and perhaps a sibling still live (though most might also have died by now). I remember that there was a problem of discontinuity in Bill's "tree." His "Dail" grandfather--I think it was (no, it may have been his "Byrd" father, "Willie"--was born illegitimate, and we couldn't find the name of his father. I do recall finding a man who grew up on a plantation over in the Benson area (roughly), who looked like a decent bet to be the grandfather. But it was still an outside shot, and I couldn't find any futher information. As I recall, these "Dails" had come from Virginia, and some had settled in Greene County and others to the east and northeast on the way. I know nothing about an Alabama connection from the research I did. Good luck, and sorry I couldn't be of more help, Brian __________________________________________________________________________ Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
