Shirley, I have information on a couple of Albert Dales. One was born 1877 in Harrison County, MO, married twice, once in 1898, once in 1934. Also another Albert born about the same time frame, probably in Decatur County, IA. Carrie died in May 1909 in Philadelphia. I can't seem to connect to any Dale's or Hoffman's who immigrated to US and lived in Philadelphia. Carrie's parents were Anthony & Tillie Hoffman. Details are sketchy, but I will cascade to everybody what little I have been told. Rachael Dale married William Ostrom, ( my grandfather ) in the late 1880's, on the Ontario/Quebec border town of Shawville, Quebec, Canada. Mr. Dale had lived in Freeport for 33 years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Jessie Eshenbaugh Dale; two sons, William B. and Charles E. Dale, of Freeport; a brother, Charles Dale of Leechburg; and a sister, Lillian Dale of Freeport. Friends will be received at the Turner-Lloyd Funeral home in Freeport. I do not have the book but do have a question for you. Does George Dale have a father named Valentine Dale? Valentine Dale's father is Steffan Diehl out of Bucks Co Pennsylvania. I have hit a wall with Valentine's father and have been unable to find where his father came from. I suspect they came from Germany somewhere but have no record of that. I am decent of Valentine and George Dale. Born and raised in Southwestern PA. We have several Mormon Libraries here in the Phoenix area, after the holidays I will stop in to one of them and see if I can take a look at this book either in print or on Microfiche.
