Hi there, I am new to the mailing ist and wondering if anyone has any connection to the Dale families living in Ipswich, England circa 1850-1900. Specifically I am looking for a connection to John DALE and Matilda RUSH who married in 1876. regards Ros
Thanks Mark, John Dale had a son Daniel but I don't know anything about him. I descend from Lucinda Dale that married Thomas Lewis and she is the daughter of John Dale and his wife Frances Daniel. . Lucinda and Daniel Dale are brother and sister. The Daniel's were in Middlesex Co., Va and my line moved on to Clark Co., Ky. Thanks a lot for looking. :) Marianne Dillow ----- Original Message ----- From: rootsmark@aol.com To: dale@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, April 10, 2012 5:39:38 PM Subject: Re: [DALE] Fwd: Need Parents of John Dale From Fauquier and Prince William Counties in VA Marianne I pulled my issue of "searching for the hidden dale" volume IV. Years ago, there was a publication called the Dale newsletter or something like it. I very much remember John Dale being mentioned as the person posting was a direct descendant. How far down the Dale name goes I do not remember. I will try to see if I can put my hand on that article on John. William and Anne Dale had the following children, as I recall: Robert, George, James, Ann, Jane, Frances. There were others, I just do not remember them. It is not unusual to be from both counties as Fauquier was created out of Prince William and are next to each other. Mark, I also see in John Dale's Rev War records he once served about one month as a substitute for one Michael Myers. I found this marriage record in Fauquier Co Va but I don't know if it means anything or not for identification for my John Dale. Michael Myers married Margaret Thornberry 2 April 1774. Author: jhdusc Surnames: Dale, Trance, Parker Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dale/1230/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm looking for the descendants of Samuel Dale, born in England in 1801, emigrated through New York in 1821, lived in Centre County, PA. He married Hannah and had four children, two of whom I am looking for as well. I am descended from Samuel and Hannah's daughter Martha Dale, and I have found their son Frederick Dale. In Samuel's 1871 will (probated 1873), he first mentions daughter "Alles Trance"--perhaps Alice-- and her son Handy. He mentions next his daughter "Maryan Parker"--Mary Ann--who I believe but am not certain was the wife of David H. Parker. Alice and Mary Ann would have been born between 1821 and 1827, going by the birthdates of the other two. I'm getting some hits on Mary Ann but none whatsoever on Alice. Does anyone have any ideas?
