Author: Marcia_Dale_LeWinter Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.dale/1142.3.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Sorry to be confusing. Yes, 1st cousin. No DNA connection to Sarah Keye, only Niccolas Dale. We know Niccolas left England from Bristol, in southwest Eng. at age 20. Since there seems to be no confirmed parentage, et al., for him I've been looking at locational and social factors. My gggrandfather Timothy Redding Dale and his older brother Weakley were both old church Baptists and when they immigrated to Missouri from Kentucky they founded a church, school and cemetery, of course with others. Also the Dale-Shirleys two generations earlier were Baptists. England was in ferment in the early 1600s, including primogeniture law. Nicholas doesn't seem to have any notable connections, but as a 2nd or 3rd son the colonies could have been attractive. And He is the ONLY Dale in VA at the 1624 Muster. All interesting, no conclusions . . . Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. So Sarah Keyes would not have passed on these Y chromosones. I am not sure how anyone determined the relationship. My line of Dales were from Scotland with a few of them imigrating to Ireland in the late 17th century. One branch settled first in County Derry, Ireland and then sailed for America--to Maryland. From thence they branched out to Carolina, Missouri, etc. There are a number of male Dales this Ulster Scots line that have worked together on research, including DNA. There appears to be no relationship at all to the English Dales, some of whom settled in Virginia--including Nicholas. I will be curious to learn how he has determined a relatioship to Sarah Ann Keye. Ron Dale Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Early results seem to confirm descent from Niccolas Dale b.1604 Eng, immigration on the Jacob 1624. However, direct DNA connection is to Staffordshire. I am trying to find out any information on a Nellie Dale that was from Bridgeport New York. Nellie is my kids great great grandma on their dads side of the family. Nellie was born in 1866 April 3. When Nellie was a girl she went to San Antonio Texas to live and work as an actress at the Thompson Theatre and had 2 children that we know of, one being my kids dads grandfather and another supposedly a little girl whom we know nothing about. Nellie died in 1889 of injuries suffered from a fall off of a carriage in San Antonio, Texas. Nellie also knew August Staacke of San Antonio. We had always been informed that August Ernest Staacke was my kids dads greatgrandfather, but recently through a DNA test we found out this is not true. There is a mans name on the grandfathers birth certificate of BF Lawton age 25 at the time of the grandfathers birth in 1886 but again we don't know anything at all about him except a few things, like the age and the initials. BF being age 25. Please help if you can. Thank you for your time and God Bless. Please contact me at 7654367081 or email at Patsy.lawton@yahoo.com. Also on the birth certificate the name of lula walton kilgore who was there at the time of birth but we don't know if lula knew nellie or if she was just a witness to the birth. along with mrs. rw staacke. Which is a person we thought was his aunt and we found out the staackes are not related at all by blood. If anyone has any information on the Dale side of the family for Nellie or the Howard side of the family as that was what her name was at the time of her death. The last name of Lawton was on the certificate as the father. BF Lawton age 25. Please help us as we have been ! looking for many years. Thanks again. She was born 1848 in London. By age 2 she is living with what must be her maternal Grandparents, in Downton, Wiltshire. By age 23 (1871) she is a live-in servant in Downtown. In 1889, as a 40-year-old spinster, she marries my Great Grandfather, Erwin Dale, a 37-year-old carpenter/joiner. The marriage certificate is witnessed by her father Joseph Webb, his occupation listed as "gentleman." By 1890 she dies, leaving her estate of 119 pounds to Erwin. Who and where was Selina's mother?
