    1. Nara records
    2. Hello, I sent a letter to check on my great uncles and Uncles (which i was not qualified to recieve)military records, and there was a place to check for medals earned for that person. I was able to get my G-Uncles Purple Heart, Honorable Service, World War 11 Victory, and European AfricanismEastern, Campaign Medals. The Purple Heart was also Engraved with his name on the back. It was very awe inspiring to hold these medals in my hand knowing that he died and is buried in Italy. It will be the only thing of my Great Uncles that I will probably have. I cant believe that I got them!! I went to http://vetrecs.archives.gov filled out the papers and they sent me a letter back telling me what medals he received and checked to see if I was qualified to receive them and i got them 2 weeks later. (they said that it would take 6 months but it only took 2 weeks from the date of the letter until i got the medals). I just wanted to pass this on in case anyone else wanted to receive their ancestors medals.
