    1. Baca Look-up and family reunions
    2. Could someone do a look-up for Magdalena BESEDA and minor son Thomas. Most likely port of entry New Orleans, maybe Galveston: they settled in Texas. This request came to me yesterday at our our 38th bi-annual family Piwetz (Pivec) reunion, from the wife of a relative who is interested in following her side of the family. The reunion is for descendants of the family that came to Texas in 1860. I had copies of recent research from the CR, and cadastral maps that showed where the bridegrooms and brides lived, and where their children were born. Other people brought old pictures to share and help identify people. One guy exclaimed in wonder, "That's my mother (as a child of age 2)". It means that we will have some more old photos to add to our family history. It has already reunited us with a branch of the family, one of the original siblings, who disappeared (legend has it, after a quarrel with his brother). Eight of them traveled from Alabama to join the reunion. Lots of energy and family spirit (and a good time was had by all :-) Jan Esenwein M. D.
