¡Hola José! Since you know the approximate date and place of your great grandfather's birth, you could try searching the parish records for the entry of his baptism. I've found the records from the late 1800's to be very detailed, often giving the name of hte child, parents, and grandparents along with their places of residence. The down side is that the parish records are only available at the State Regional Archives in the Czech Republic. You either have to go there yourself or hire a local researcher to view the records. Once you know the book and page of the record you want, you can request a copy from the archive. There are four towns called Pisek in the Czech Republic, one in the east near the border of Poland and Slovakia, another west of Hradec Kralove, one south of Prague near the Austrian border, and one west of Prague near Plzen. The one south of Prague is by far the largest. The others appear to be quite small. Here is a url for a site that lists the regional and district archives: http://www.europanet.org/archives/czech.html and another describing the records in the regional archives: http://czechcensus.tripod.com/regarchives.htm Records for the large Pisek are at the archive for South Bohemia in Trebon. For the first two small towns called Pisek, the records are in the regional archive for East Bohemia in Zamrsk. For the last small Pisek, the records are in the regional archive for West Bohemia in Plzen. Hablo un poco de espanol, porque vivía en el Ecuador hace unos anos. Entonces, estabamos vecinos. Pero hablo mejor ingles y vivo en los Estados Unidos. ¡Buenos suerte! Carol
