    3. I should add to my message below that one can still browse the surname database, registration is not required for viewing. I might also mention that cookies are not all evil, that I personally do permit some websites to place them on my computer, that some sites won't work without them (Ancestry, New York Times, my bank come to mind) and that what may be true today on any site may not be true tomorrow. Tracking has some legitimate reasons and is not all bad. I love Google and use many of its options. I do allow it to track my surfing habits, it is a small payback for what it gives me free. Google was very up front about tracking. We might all be happier if all sites were as open about it as they.
