Hello List, I have just received a copy of my gr uncle's New York marriage certificate dated nov 28, 1897. It was signed by the pastor, Joseph Wild, but no name of a church is on the document. Under the pastor's signature the box for residence lists 323 East 61st street. Can anyone tell me how to find out if this address is for a church, just the pastor, or both? I know this isn't the Jan Hus Church where his sister was married. I was wondering if there was yet another church more frequented by the Czech population. It appears to be a religious community, note the two residences very close to one another: General Spiritual OLPH Redemptionists - - 323 E 61st Street (2nd & 1st) Philippine Pastoral Center - - 248 E 62nd Street (3rd & 2nd) Note the church at Jan Hus Presbyterian Church - 212-288-6743 - 351 E 74th St (2nd & 1st) http://www.uppereast.com/upeassidspir.html If you call them, let us know what they say. Good luck with your research!
