Now US Census records on-line has "reared it's head" and I have a comment about that. There is a subscription service called Heritage Quest that has superb US Census Records on-line. They are behind on getting some records on-line compared to the other mentioned services, but the quality is very good and so are the searches. The beauty of Heritage Quest is that public libraries can subscribe to it and then all library patrons can use it for free. Check you local library to see if they can acquire Heritage Quest for you. My question is "how many on-line" subscription services are there? I only thought there was one; ie, Ancestry.com and all the others were just "fronts" for that single organization. Isn't Ancestry.com the sponsor for Rootsweb (this mail list)? If there is more than one, how much are the costs and what do you get for that amount? All I have ever heard is beware of being "sucked in" by Ancestry.com's so called free 2 week subscription. You might have to gnaw off one limb to get out of a hefty annual charge! Is that the same with all of them or just one of them? Ron Mlejnek At 07:03 PM 09/21/2004, you wrote: >Sandy - You sound like me giving advice -- looks like I should take my >own.
