I had found one marriage certificate in Chambers Street, NY. I had sent some money $5 or $10 with original letter. I think. His name was Bill Ford and he worked on Thursdays. Did you go to Chambers Street to look in the archives their marriage. It takes time but usually you can find them. First look up under the name that is not common. Like I'm now Sullivan but there are a lot of Sullivans. Look up under my maiden name CECH. Not many of them. You look under the bride and then also under groom. I also had baptismal paper from the church and we looked back from then. Jackie
Jackie, I read as many marriage registers as I could find from 1884-1887 and found nothing. I did this through renting films at the Mormon research center. Then, in desperation, I sent my $15 to Chambers Street and asked them to look in 1885. They found nothing. I think I will write to the church and see if they can find a record (and if they are willing to look for me). Thanks for the information. Susan
