In 1995 when I went to Ireland for a family reunion my son, an Architect printed them on large paper that they use for building designs.  I then connected some of them.  The tree ended up over 6 feet by 5 feet.  I also added flags for the countries that they were born in.  I had over 700 people on the tree.  I also had another printed a smaller size of one family at Kinko's. I also color code each generation.  My family purple, my parents pink, grandparents green, great grandparents blue, gggrandparents yellow,  ggggrandparents peach,  gggggrandparents red, ggggggrandparents orange etc.  In my printed book I also have each generation colored coded.  I put color  card stock for each family.  You know instantly what generation each ones are.
