Denise, Where are you starting from? If going through Omaha, NE, try out the Bohemian Cafe. Also, the Czech Capital of Nebraska is in Wilber and they have places to stay and eat there too. While in Chicago, you have eat at: Berghoff 17 W. Adams St. Chicago 312-427-3170 It is German-American, but who cares!? Bohemia is a German name for Czechia. http://www.germancorner.com/yellowpages/restaurants/illinois.html Ron Mlejnek At 04:39 PM 03/22/2004 -0700, you wrote: >I'm looking for restaurants that serve traditional meals from >Bohemia/Czechoslavkia. I was curious as to what traditional Bohemian food would include and if anybody might have some good recipes. If you were to visit the Cafe Prague in Ft. Myers, FL you would find a buffet of chicken & pea pods, fried rice, Moo goo gai pan, egg drop soup and fortune cookies. Nary a pork chop, nor dumpling in sight!!!!! Joe in SW FL Subscribe to my FREE Conservative Clippings http://www.pehoushek.com/NEWSLETTER/newsletter.php
If coming through Iowa, stop in Cedar Rapids as there are a couple in the Czech Village near the Czech Museum. The village has a bakery with all the goodies and the butcher shop still sells homemade head cheese. There is also a gift shop with imports of crystal, glass Christmas decorations and the blood stones (garnets) besides other items. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ron Mlejnek" <rvmlejnek@navix.net> To: <CZECH-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, March 22, 2004 8:25 PM Subject: Re: [CZ] Bohemian restaurants > Denise, > > Where are you starting from? > > If going through Omaha, NE, try out the Bohemian Cafe.
