The FTM book should give you the info you need to get it done that way. There is a gentleman who does just that for you, he is in England I think, and right now I cannot find my bookmark for him, darn it. I made up a tree several years ago and a cousin's husband, who is in the Navy and was working in a print shop with a platt printer took it and rearranged it so it could be printed in a narrower and longer format and then printed it on one sheet of paper (banner) for us.
