    3. That is almost exactly the opposite of what most people do. I have received gargantuan image files from people who were not used to scanning. I think most scanners save in a large size to maintain good imagery. So, I am going to take a stab that your cousin is using XP and that she is saying yes when XP asks if she wants to send a smaller image. The smaller image is useless for reading scanned writing. I suppose it might be okay for pictures. But those items will not enlarge properly on your computer. Ask about the XP. If so, tell her not to use the option and to send them in the size scanned.
