Mike, Thanks for your reply and information. I have made contact with several people in the Czech Republic that were in some way connected to my ancestors from that area. We have emailed back and forth but it sometimes takes a long period of time before I hear back from them after emailing them. I thus figured the reason was the high cost of using the Internet services in the CR. Your information confirmed my suspicions.
