His family came from Kninice, Moravia. I do not know if that is where the original Holecek family lived, but where the family was living when five of their children were born from 1858-1873. Kninice is located in the southwest area of Moravia, near the Austrian border [about 10-15 miles north] as well as near the dividing line with Bohemia. The nearest administrative center was Dacice, I believe. Telc is also close by. Where did your Holecek settle and where do you live? We still live in Texas in the Dallas area. All of my families listed in the surname blank lived in that area. June
