I am not sure where his parents settled or how he himself came to be in SD. They could have been in Iowa but I am not sure at this time as I can't find him in the census records that far back because they are listed under the head of house only and the children and wife are not listed. Thank you for the info though. I will take it into consideration when trying to find the family.
