I have been doing genealogy since 1990 and although it is all interesting work, this has been the hardest. Mostly I think because my husband's father, John Kepus, was married before he married my husbands mother, and back in those days people were very quiet about divorce. His father was very close mouthed about where he came from and even if he had any family here with him. Most of what I have found has been based on speculation. His 1st marriage license in NY (1911) has a Wm Kepus as a witness but we were told there were no siblings (cousin). I did find 2 phone numbers & address for Slovakia and I am going to write to them.
