Remember that not everyone in USA or SK might be into genealogy. Not trying to discourage you being that I do recommend sending a letter with a photo to the people that list in the ancestral village's phone book. More and more people are learning or know English but first letter would be best in native tongue. We know that surname KEPUS existed in Cierne by Cadca. It does not show up there anymore but possible that the name is there but the family has no house phone or only cell phone. Does anyone in the family has his naturalization certificate?
