There are some places where you may find more information about your ancestors from Vysoke Myto. First, the regional archive in Zamrsk (about 10 miles from Vysoke Myto) should have vital registers with birth, marriage, and death records for population from that area. Unfortunately, it appears that this archive is still closed due to reconstruction. http://www.vychodoceskearchivy.cz (click on Statni oblastni archiv v Zamrsku) Second thing worth trying would be to check with the registrar's office in the city hall in Vysoke Myto. Certain vital records from the late 1800's and early 1900's may still be there. There is some bureaucracy involved when trying to get access to these records. You will need to prove that you are looking for your ancestor's information. I suggest checking with them upfront for what exactly you need to bring with you. Here is a contact form for the registrar's office clerk: http://www.vysoke-myto.cz/portal/index.php?option=com_contact&task=view&&contact_id=86&Itemid=318 Third place to visit would be the county office in Usti nad Orlici, where they may have further information such as census and property records for Vysoke Myto. Unfortunately, this archive appears to be also closed at present; their web site says until the end of March but gives no further info when they will reopen. http://www.vychodoceskearchivy.cz (click on Statni okresni archiv v Usti nad Orlici) Honza [email protected] wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Baum > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/lRC.2ACE/3495 > > Message Board Post: > > I am trying to locate family information on my ggrandparents from Vysorke Myto, Anton Baum and Veronicka (Veronica) Gross Baum. My ggrandmother came to the US in 1900 with her sons Vincent and Emanuel. I have information from 1900 to current but unable to locate my ggranfathers information. Is there any way to get info from Czech on deaths in Vysorke Myto? Any help would greatly be appreciated for I am going to the Czech Republic on the 28th of April. > Thank you. > > > ==== CZECH Mailing List ==== > All matters pertaining to list administration are exclusively > handled by the List Administrator.
