    1. Re: [CZ] PLEASE HELP ME FIND MY GF
    2. Is this your tree? It says Franz Walla died Nov 1955 in a New York hospital. _http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=1walla&id=I501677528_ (http://awt.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=1walla&id=I501677528) I would begin by calling, visiting, or writing to the Kings County health department and start a search for a death certificate. There is quite a bit of information posted in your tree here, and if you start with Brooklyn, you should have success. Also contact the genealogy and historical societies for those areas, who may be able to help you or point you in the right direction. Those societies usually compile quite a bit of information. Have you tried the Brooklyn libraries for cemetery information? There is also a Municipal Archives of the City of New York that may have information. On line data bases don't always contain all the information and sometimes contain errors. In a case like yours, I would turn to the telephone and begin making calls. If someone can't help you, they may be able to give you the name of someone else who may be able to help you. I also found this in an online database which shows that Filomena died 14 September 1937 in Manhattan. Is this the same person? Dates are off a bit. Walla Filomena 50 y Sept 14 1937 20429 Manhattan 1886 - 1887 Are you sure Franz was buried? He may have been cremated. In a message dated 12/29/2007 9:53:27 P.M. Central Standard Time, CAnne16560@aol.com wArites: After 6 years of research over multitudes and multitudes of websites, census's, stats, stats, and more stats, I have just about given up trying to find out when my grandfather died and where he is buried. I have used Ancestry to distraction, FHC, Ship lists, Immigration stats, and so many more lists, and guides that I am buggy in the head just thinking of them all. I realize all of you are just as busy; this will be my last cry for help; if I don't find a DC and a cemetery this year, I will just call it a draw and give up. I am very limited in that I do not know his parents names, and I am the last living family member. If someone should stumble up any information that I don't already know about, please let me know....this one is a very, very deep rabbit hole. His name is Franz (Frank) Walla (1888-195?)
