    3. I once helped a Czech National locate relatives and their records in Broome County, NY. I used the Broome County Genealogical Society. Have you tried any of these "Links"?: http://www.bclibrary.info/history.htm http://www.kindredtrails.com/NY_Broome.html http://www.mynewyorkgenealogy.com/ny_county/brm.htm http://www.geocities.com/marcri2/ http://www.bclibrary.info/ You can also subscribe to this list: http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail_states-ny.html#NYBROOME BTW, a place name ending in "falu" appears to be either Slovak, Hungarian, or Romanian, but the first part of the name, Laksarnafalu, appears to be wrong. It might be 2 words. Most search strategies depend on the first 2-3 letters so I think you need to get on a Hungarian Mail List to identify the place. Also, if Franz were naturalized or applied to be naturalized (Declaration of Intent), his exact birthplace will be listed.
