Based on the descriptions of the database which are rather clear, these people are non residents of Prague and are treated like "immigrants". The police were responsible for registering them and keeping track on them. When they left Prague or changed addresses in the city, they had to register again. If you are looking for permanent residents, then you have to look for some kind of directory of residents (which I am not aware of) or a census record. Prague Municipal records do have births, marriages and deaths, but these are listed when the event occurred and the place it occurred. If you do not know that information, the record cannot be located. As in most American cities of any size, about 1910 the municipalities and businesses put together a directory for general use. These directories gave addresses and the names of people living at that address. Does anyone know how comprehensive this list is? If some one was already a 'citizen' of Praha, would they be listed? Does it include only Praha proper and not the little (or large) outlining areas that have sort of been incorporated in the city? If a person were there for an extended stay, living with someone who was a citizen, would they be included? Is this list complete... that is, are their still records to be put on line? The above questions might help others who are looking for family who might have lived in Praha. Appreciate any additional insight as to the contents of these records.
