    3. Dear List, if you write in the server <atlas.cz> the following: <Databaze cs. legionáru z 1. svetové valky>(Databasis of Czech legionists during the WWI), (the third position), maybe you can find relatives of your ancestors. The other list contains some of the soldiers killed during WWII. Prijmeni = surname, to write with "haceks and carka's" in capital letters. If you know - the birth year. If you write only the surname the list contains all (?) legionists with the mentioned name), mostly born between cca 1870-1900. A good toy... 3. Yes, a neat toy! Only I do not have the Czech alphabet so only could write in those without haceks. That is ok. Very interesting!! http://www.vuapraha.army.cz/db/index.php Rosie in WA State On Jan 12, 2008, at 12:42 AM, jiri mlejnek wrote: > Dear List, > > if you write in the server <atlas.cz> the following: <Databaze cs. > legionáru z 1. svetové valky>(Databasis of Czech legionists during the > WWI), (the third position), maybe you can find relatives of your > ancestors. > > The other list contains some of the soldiers killed during WWII. > > Prijmeni = surname, to write with "haceks and carka's" in capital > letters. 3. Rosie and Jiri, Thank you very much Jiri. This is a very useful tool indeed. I followed the instructions and came to this page: http://www.vuapraha.army.cz/db/index.php There are 2 parts called: 1) Databáze s. legioná z 1. sv tové války 2) Databáze padlých p íslušník s. vojenských jednotek za 2. sv tové války I had one one problem with my browser as it did not allow me to return to page above. There are several solutions to that if anyone else has that same problem. As for the Czech "marks", I am not certain you need them. Mainly because I tried many names, but the only one that gave me results was Jiri's and my common surname which has no "marks". If anyone needs help in creating the "marks", contact me "off line". It depends on your computers operating system on how to make "marks": http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/%7Eelainetmaddox/keyboard01.htm http://www.angelfire.com/tx5/texasczech/References/Czech%20Keyboard.htm http://tlt.psu.edu/suggestions/international/keyboards/winkey.html ron At 11:31 PM 01/12/2008, you wrote: >Yes, a neat toy!
