Hi list: I've sent this before and thought maybe some new people would have some ideas on how I can find these people. I need some help on the following family from someone on Ancestry.com. >From what I have found they came from Unterhutten, Pilsen, Bohemia. Michael Wild, b: abt 1825, d: 1858 in Unterhutten, Pilsen, Bohemia. Married to Maria Mirzova, b: abt 1825, d: 1859 in Unterhütten, Kreis Bischofteinitz, Bohemia, Austria. They were married in Unterhütten, Kreis Bischofteinitz, Bohemia, Austria in 1844 They had 3 children: Mary b: 19 Feb 1845 in Plassendorf, Bohemia. She married Joseph Lang, b: 18 Apr 1840 in Trinitz, Pilsen, Bohemia. They were married around 1869. Joseph, b: 23 Mar 1852 in Unterhutten, Pilsen, Bohemia. He married Anna Achatz, b: 4 Oct 1856 in Unterhutten, Pilsen, Bohemia. They were married abt 1880 in Unterhutten, Pilsen, Bohemia. Katherine, b: 13 Mar 1859 in Unterhütten, Kreis Bischofteinitz, Bohemia, Austria. She married Wenzel Fleischman, b: 15 Jun 1857 in Unterhütten, Kreis Bischofteinitz, Bohemia, Austria. They married 17 Oct 1881 in Unterhütten, Kreis Bischofteinitz, Bohemia, Austria. Joseph & Katherine with their families came to the USA some time after 1881 and before 1884. They settled in Langlade County, Wisconsin, USA. Mary came some time after that. That is all I have been able to find so far. I appreciate any help I can get on this family. I would like to know when they came to the USA and on what ship if possible. Bill Forshay - San Antonio, TX USA
Have you checked the census records that state what year they immigrated? That will help narrow the search down for others to help search for you. I don't remember which censuses tell that fact. Do you have access at all to census records? The library usually has access to ancestry or some other program that searches censuses. Just a thought. Hire a professional researcher living in the Czech Republic. You are not going to find much of anything in Ancestry.com. You can start by reading the second half of this page and asking "Listers" for advice and recommendations for researchers: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~elainetmaddox/index.htm The list of professional researchers was removed. Many are very reputable, but some are not. If you are contacted by someone "off list", be sure to ask this Mail List for advice. It could save you hundreds of dollars. Bill -- So far I found the following entry: Josep Wild b. about 1854 - Arrives New York - 8 April 1882 Entry is for: Wild, Josep or Josef - age 28 wife: Anna - age 25 child: Theresia - 9 months Ship: Waesland Do you think this could be your Joseph? The birth year might be off because of how he stated his age. Bill -- I wrote earlier with a possible match. After writing, I started searching in the 1900 census and found Joseph Wild -- it is indexed under Weld - not an unusual mistake. The town is Rolling, Langdale, Wisconsin so I think I have the correct family. Indicates Joseph, wife Anna; daughter Theresia - b. about 1881 - family arriving 1882. So I am pretty sure this is your family. I will see what I can do about copying more information for you -- if you think this is your family.
