If I understand the question and answer, the town or village has to be in Bohemia (Böhmen), i.e, "v. Cechach". Schwarzbach, Cerná v Poumaví, Cerná is located 95 miles South of Prague near Ceske Krumlov and the border with Austria and it is the only location listed by ShtetlSeeker: http://www.jewishgen.org/Communities/LocTown.asp It is nicely viewed using the Atlas Mapy server: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~elainetmaddox/czgenealogy.htm#tools The other location in Gundacker's Gazeteer (13116) is listed as Horní Brusnice, Ober-Prausnitz, Ober Braussnitz by ShtetlSeeker and it is located 60 miles ENE of Prague. Since Gundacker's Gazeteer is rather reliable, I think you would have to check both locations further for information unless you have a 2nd village or district name. for example, Cerná v Poumaví is in the Ceske Krumlov district or Okres. ron mlejnek At 04:27 PM 06/07/2008, you wrote: >F.
