Does anyone know about following up on Berni Rula index entries? Do I need to hire a Czech researcher to find the full entry in the appropriate regional book? I have documentation of my dad's family (Pivec/Pivetz/Piwetz) back to 1744 in Southern Bohemia (Misek/Missek/Mnissek). The Berni Rula shows a Pivce in that same village. Is it likely this is the same family (Pivce/Pivec)? The Berni Rula also shows a Bartholomej Pivec in a village that is very close to Mnissek, and my 1744 documentation mentions a Bartholomej (I know, a 90-year gap, but it proves it is a family name). I would like to pursue these two leads to get more information on the family at the time. Anybody know how to access the regional Berni Rula books? Are they held in the regional archives?
