Unfortunately, I also thought the mayor of a town would be slow in responding. My plan is to write directly to some people who live in the village. I also have another idea which did work for me. I have been searching for a town which no longer exists -- it is now part of Cirkvice in the district of Kutna Hora. I tried searching websites re: Cirkvice but they have all been written in Czech. However, two of them had e-mail contacts. I wrote to both of them .... and they both were extremely helpful -- reaffirming the absorption of the little section of Vosrkrac into Cirkvice. So if you can find a website concerning the town you are researching, look for an e-mail address -- keep the message very simple in case they don't read English fluently. I wish you good luck.
