I found multiple online articles containing varying ages for the age of conscription ranging from 15-21. I've since learned that for the time period I'm researching, the 1850s, the age was 20. I've ordered the book that was cited as the source for this information. Once I receive it, I'll post further information. Nicole Kenjura Christina <sen.chlubic@gmail.com> wrote: *1. Nicole Kenjura* The conscription and military duties were the biggest obstruction to emigration consent. Military conscription referred to all male persons of 21 years of age and more. In the Fifties a District Military Command had to give their standpoint to any application, no matter if the applicant was twenty or seventy, later only in cases of conscription age of the applicants, i.e. 21 - 35 years of age. This information was found online and I hope this answers your question. - C > > > > ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to CZECH-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
