    1. Re: [CZ] Vanecek or Vlasaty
    2. Hi Glen, I'm glad when it is maybe an little help. I have the phone book from Prague 1944 and 1951. Also the city directory from Plzen in 1931. So it was not difficult to look for your names. When maybe his Bohuslav and this Marie which I wrote are your Vanecek's, here still what stand by the names: 1944 Bohuslav, upper-adjutant by the BMB (maybe Bohemian-Moravian-Bahn) (Bahn is train) lived na Kampe No 9/415 Marie, fowl business, was given with Prague I, Old town market hall booth No. 58 (I think she had maybe an booth in the market hall, the booth has No. 58 and the phone number was for this booth and her business) I think it was not her home address. 1951 Bohuslav, inspector by the czech railroad, lived Petrska No. 24 Marie, Prague I, lived Liliova No. 8 When your people lived in Prague and you know the correct address from them in 1930-1950, you can try to order the Census record from 1930, 1939 or later. Go to http://www.nacr.cz/B-prover/pruv.aspx and open the first pdf document below (11kb). It is in czech, but maybe someone can help you by the translation. Fill out the paper and send it to the address who is given at the paper. This paper is also for other towns (Plzen), but you must always know the correct address. But it is possible, when the children lived not more at home by the parents, they will not appear in the Census. Then you must try an earlier Census, where the children are still listed. There are also other pdf's for lookups and requests. I have for example two copies from the 1930 Census from my family from Zatec and Plzen at my homepage: http://www.lars-hanusch.de/Bohemia.html I saw also this Vaneck's (Wanecek) who was mentioned in Prague in 1850: Adalbert, Anna, Franz, Johann and Wenzel. When this people are interest for you, I can look what is written about them there. I have still other books and records (from other districts), look if something is interesting for you http://www.lars-hanusch.de/Lookups.html good luck in your search Lars ----- Original Message ----- From: "Barb & Glen" <waneck@telus.net> To: <czech@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, January 29, 2008 5:17 AM Subject: Re: [CZ] Vanecek or Vlasaty > Hi Lars, > Thank you for the information. 2. Hello, Could anyone please translate the passage below for me or even part of it? Thanks! Betty Breburda Stojí pan Breburda v tramvaji. Druhý den nastoupí Breburda do tramvaje. Vidí, že před ním sedí opět tentýž pán, opět čte noviny, krátce od nich vzhlédne a řekne: Paroháči ukecanej! **************Start the year off right.
