    3. Hello, I've come upon a brick wall! Researching g.grandparents: Johann & Mary (Hetz) Janotta (other spellings I've found-Janocha and Janotha). On death records & in obits, I've found Preheisen Austria; census lists Poland and Bohemia; other items list Germany as on his Naturalization Papers. Since then, I found that the town is now referred to as Prehysov in the Czech Republic. Their parish was Obersekersdan and post office, Hermannshintte (spelling maybe off) He was born in 1853, they married in 1879 Johann came to USA in 1882; Mary and son Wenzl in 1883 Settled in Peru, Huron County, Ohio Catholic Faith Mary's father was John and a brother Joseph in Germany I just don't know how to go about looking for German/Poland records. Any information anyone could send me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. Elaine Lochner eeelane@verizon.net 2/25/08

    1. [CZ] Moravia Archives
    2. jiri mlejnek
    3. Marc, I have read the respective part of the MA page once more. It contains the following sentence: "Spravni obvod archivu je vymezen uzemim kraju Jihomoravskeho, Vysocina a Zlinskeho s uzemim techto kraju k 1. 1. 2000." (The administrative district of the archives includs the territories of regions Jihomoravsky, Vysocina, Zlinsky to the date Jan 1, 2000.) I think this needs a nearer interpretation. Jiri P.S. I like this discussion. ---------------------------------------------------- Zobacz z nami relację z GALI OSCAROWEJ!! Zaczynamy w niedzielę po północy. 3. Yes, you are quite right sayng Dudin is in Bohemia but... in the page of MA is said the records of areas (kraje) Jihomoravsky, Vysocina, Zlinsky)are located in Brno. Don't know what I am doing wrong or if for some reason, my protector won't receive messages from a list? That doesn't seem possible. I would like to get back on the list to see what's up with people and maybe find someone new researching my names. Hope you have been well. 3. Martin, Your email to Carolina came across to me - I hope you don't mind me writing to you. Would you have any knowledge of people living in Prehysov today? or Is their any book(s) to check on folks living their in about 1880? I am searching for Janotta (sometimes spelled Janotha or Janocha), Johann and Mary (Hetz) Janotta. They are my g. gparents who came over in 1882 and 1883 leaving from Breman. I have no information on their family who did not come. Mary had a brother Joseph and her father's name of John Hetz. Thanking you in advance for any information you may have to help me.
