    3. Petr, I checked it from the link you provided in this message and it works fine. Perhaps your "browser" needs an adjustment? Secondly, I said this "web site might be useful for searching locations in the Czech Republic." I never said it was the "best". Indeed, if you check the link that I have provided to subscribers to the Czech Mail List, I already listed what I think are the "best" sites: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~elainetmaddox/czgenealogy.htm#tools Ron Mlejnek At 05:44 PM 05/02/2008, you wrote: >To: Ron and Betty Mlejnek > >It does not works properly for me, I see only 404: Page Not Found > >I know better maps, try following: <http://www.mapy.cz/>http://www.mapy.cz/ > >You can write phrase what you are looking for, to the field "Hledej" >Switching between several types of maps is available, test ZAKLADNI, >TURISTICKA, FOTOMAPA and HISTORICKA butons. >Try paste to "Hledej" Zamberk, Nadrazni 764 and you will find where I live. > >Kind regards > >Petr Sedlon >Nadrazni 764 >Zamberk > > > > > > >2008/5/2 Ron and Betty Mlejnek ><<mailto:rvmlejnek@navix.net>rvmlejnek@navix.net>: >The following web site might be useful for searching locations in the >Czech republic: > ><http://czech-republic.relocate-anyplace.selfip.com/>http://czech-republic.relocate-anyplace.selfip.com/ >------------------------------- >To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ><mailto:CZECH-request@rootsweb.com>CZECH-request@rootsweb.com with >the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the >body of the message

    1. Re: [CZ] FLEISCHMAN, WILD and PAA families
    2. Bill Forshay
    3. List: I’m looking for the following people: Joseph Fleischman, b: 1 Aug 1864 Unterhütten, Kreis Bischofteinitz, Bohemia, Austria, d: 7 Aug 1937 Rolling Twp., Langlade County, Wisconsin. Also Paul FLEISCHMAN, b: 29 Jun 1883, died 29 Mar 1963 in Antigo, Langlade Co., WI. He married Anna Theresa Drexler on 27 Oct 1908 in Antigo, WI. He came to the USA in 1884 according to the 1900 Census. Also looking for families of PAA & WILD, probably from the same area. I found this information on the following web site: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gbhs/resources/czech/UnterhuttenEng.html The older men were in the 7th Landwehr [militia, national guard] in Eger and later were transferred to Rumburg. Individual soldiers served in Cavalry Regiment No. 2 in Dobrzan. During the First World War, 13 men were killed in action. They were: Josef Müller Nr. 1 1, Josef Gobernatz Nr. 32, Josef Paa Nr. 6, Michl Vogl Nr. 19, Johann Mages Nr. 22, Karl Paa Nr. 24, Adolf Meisinger Nr. 28, Franz Paa Nr. 32, Paul Mages Nr. 35, Josef Portner Nr. 35, Georg Kirsch Nr. 45, Josef Wild Nr. 45 and the schoolteacher, Georg Maurer, Nr. 34. Between 1921 and 1937, 27 men from Unterhütte served as soldiers in the Czech army. At the time they were obligated to serve for two years. Men were mustered in at Ronsperg and there was a large recruiting staff stationed there. Eligibility was strictly overseen and in 1926 or 12 men who were examined only one was enlisted. Before the German troops marched into Czechoslovakia the state had called for mobilization but there were not many who answered the call to enlist. Instead most fled to Bavaria. After the Anschluss many Sudetens reported to voluntarily enlist in the German armed forces. During the Second World War 109 men enlisted among whom 36 became casualties: Erich Axmann (Lehrer) Nr. 40, Franz Baier Nr. 26, Franz Baier Nr. 57, Alois Fleischmann Nr. 52, Franz Gobernatz Nr. 21, Franz Hasl Nr. 57, Eduard Hell (teacher) Nr. 27, Anton Hogen Nr. 29, Franz Hogen Nr. 29, Johann Kirsch Nr. 45, Franz Kirsch Nr. 51, Georg Kirsch Nr. 38, Josef Kirsch Nr. 11, Rudolf Kirsch Nr. 44, Simon Kirsch Nr. 44, Rudolf Lindl (Lehrer) Nr. 6, Karl Lindl Nr. 17, Franz Markgraf Nr. 47, Rudolf Markgraf Nr. 47, Otto Markgraf Nr. 14, Ludwig Neudenker Nr. 36, Johann Paa Nr. 34, Josef Reiminger Nr. 56, Josef Reiminger Nr. 41, Erwin Reiminger Nr. 21, Martin Reiminger Nr. 53, Franz Vogl Nr. 42, Anton Wild Nr. 13, Ernst Wild Nr. 4, Franz Wild Nr. 32, Johann Wild Nr. 49, Rudolf Wild Nr. 43, Franz Wild (Lehrer) - Neumühle, Otto Wild Nr.- (Neumühle), Franz Wild Nr. 50, und Ernst Wedl Nr. 54. After the expulsion most of the residents of Unterhütten settled in Schönsee, Stadlern and Bavarian-Schwarzach. All that remains of the former place named Unterhütten is hillside overgrown with wild brushwood. Can somebody tell me what catholic church to look for any of these records? 2. Martin Pytr
    3. Hello, It depends on the historical time. Protestant belief starts to be tolerated at Czech lands since 1781 by the Edict of Tolerance, issued by the Emperor Joseph II. For children from mixtured marriages were 2 possibilities: 1) to be educated in catholic religion 2) daughter followed religion of her mother, son followed religion of his father In 1848 and more in 1861 were non-catholic beliefs emancipated and it seems that children of mixtured marriages can follow the religion what they parents decided. Martin Pytr, CZ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lou Fischer" <lfischer@suddenlink.net> To: <czech@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 18, 2008 8:06 PM Subject: [CZ] Religion of Families Does anyone know what the family tradition was for picking a religion for a family in Bohemian/Moravia? If a couple got married, the wife being Catholic and the husband being Protestant, which religion would the family follow? As in the USA, more times than not, the family follows the wife's religion. Is this the same in Czech.? -- Jsem chrA!n?n bezplatnA1m SPAMfighter pro soukromA uA3ivatele. AA3 doposud m? uA!etA?il pA?Ajmu 1042 spam-emailA. 3. Judie, for those of us who live outside the area, are there volunteers or researchers for fee who will help us with the materials at the library? I personally have no chance of getting to the library but my family was in Chicago in the 1860s. What does the Society offer to residents outside of the Chicago area? (Some I know, but some should be mentioned here.) Many thanks for your response. Elaine > Ron & Betty Mlejnek <rm62759@windstream.net> wrote: > > CSAGSI has not been much help in the past.
