My great grandfather was in Company A 7th Regement of the Kentucky Volunteers. He was captured by the rebels September, 1862 in Estill County KY.,paroled and sent to Camp Chase, Ohio. Not being a student of the Civil Was I have some questions. What does it mean he was 'paroled' and sent to Camp Chase, Ohio? It was in the North. Who ran the camp? Is there a description of Camp Chase? Was there a hospital there? It states he was sick. Thank you for your insight. Barbara
